The vet about the Romanian Carpathian shepherd dog

Those who want to breed a Romanian Carpathian shepherd dog must know some aspects regarding its breeding and caring. Being a rustic breed, the carpathian shepherd dog doesn't need any special care.

Like any dog, in the first period of life, the shepherd dog's cubs must follow the programme of vaccination and desinfectation. After the age of 3 months, the amount of calcium is not enough for a harmonious growth of the skeleton. This is the moment when we must add in its food, following the vet's advice, extra calcium and phosphorus. In most of the cases, those who breed for the first time a shepherd dog mistakenly think that giving to their dog a daily portion of milk, they cover its requirement of calcium. Talking about a medium to large-sized dog, with quite a big weight and fast growing, it is difficult to provide the right amount of vitamines only out of the daily food. Furt hermore, this breed is not very pretentious regarding feeding. The carpathian accepts happily special dog food as well as a cooked meal. Most of the problems encountered during the process of growing are not the result of any genetic flaws, but rather the result of disobeying the rules of correct feeding and caring in the first semesters of life.The physical activity is also very important for a harmonious growth of the skeleton.The lack of it can generate stature flaws, flaws of the muscles etc.

From the moment you become the master of a shepherd dog, you will have a faithful friend for life. This curageous and faithful dog perfectly carries out its role of guard as well as that of companion for its masters. Of all the three national breeds of Romanian shepherd dog, the carpathian requires the least caring, and it offers a faithful and special friendship.
